Taming of the Shrew

Directed by: Steve Brigden

The etcetera production of The Taming of the Shrew was set in the 1930s, a period of economic hardship and depravation but also a great period for radical and free thinking.

The lively comedy which tells a story about love is often considered controversial. Our focus was on a couple besotted with each other and struggling to conform to the roles which society expects of them. As their relationship evolves, they play to the gallery amidst a background of charade and shenanigans. A large cast and we undertook a change of venue shortly before we opened.
