The formidable Lady Bracknell is to be played by Annette Probert who has previously appeared with etc as Janet McKenzie in Witness for the Prosecution and Mary in A Bunch of Amateurs.

Having elevated her social status through marriage, the toffee-nosed Lady B expects her daughter, Gwendolen to maintain the standards that she has set and marry a man worthy of her social status. So, when Jack Worthing comes on the scene eager to get engaged to Gwendolen, will he pass the rigorous interrogation set by Lady B?

Annette is delighted to take on the challenge of playing Lady Bracknell.

“She is a powerful and intimidating character with fabulous lines. I can’t wait to get up on my high horse and play the snobbish, hoity, toity Lady B,” she said.
